Call for Artists: San Antonio Clay Festival

We are pleased to announce our next Clay Festival will be on the grounds of San Antonio Museum of Art.
November 16th 10 a.m to 5 p.m. 200 West Jones Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78215.

SA Clay Fest affords SAPG members and other Clay Artisans an opportunity to showcase and sell their work. Entry fees help to pay for venue costs, advertising, postcards, postage, and labels. Artists are encouraged to present their highest quality artwork, in a professional display.
Rules for Entry:
Clay Fest 2013 is open to SAPG members and other regional Clay Artists..
  • If you are not a member of SAPG or a member of SAPG less than one year, you can apply with 2 or 3
    digital images of your work for jury by the Exhibitions Committee (see contact info below.)
  • Display set up is the responsibility of the artist and must include a 10 x 10 tent that is in good
    repair and suitable for this venue. (with a preference for a white tent)
  • Booths MUST be weighted down. Information packet to follow with guidelines.
  • Items offered for sale must be HANDMADE by the show artist - no exceptions.
  • In an effort to focus the show on celebrating the ceramic medium, artists no longer
    working in ceramic as their primary medium should either sell or display some of their ceramic
    works.
  • No commercial items are to be sold.
  • Space is limited.
    • The application must be postmarked by October 25, 2013 to qualify for a single booth, with a fee of $100 for SAPG members and $135 for non- members and a ½ booth fee of $50 for
      SAPG members and $85 for non-members. (non-member fees include a $35 membership fee)
  • After November 1st there will be no refunds of entry fees.
  • Please use one entry form per artist. All fees and forms MUST BE MAILED.

Call for Artists:Handmade & Homegrown Show & sale

Handmade & Homegrown is an outdoor event for local artists and plant enthusiasts to display and sell their handmade and homegrown items.  All artwork must be handmade by the Exhibitor and all plants must be grown at the Exhibitor’s home. Non-profit organizations related to art or plants may also purchase a space to be manned by their members.  

Applications and images must be submitted no later than October 31, 2013. Applications may be hand delivered to: Lions Field, 2809 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78209 or sent via email: handmadehomegrownsa@gmail.com.  Notification of acceptance will be emailed to applicants on or before November 7, 2013.  



Call for Artists: Hecho a Mano Boutique

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center invites local, regional and national visual artists to join in the launching of our new Hecho a Mano Boutique. We also invite all artists working in all media to create one-of-a-kind, handmade wreaths for auction at ¡Ay Corona!, the annual Holiday Wreath exhibition and party, on Friday, November 22, 2013, 6-9 p.m. at the Guadalupe Theater.

Application deadline is Monday, September 30, 2013 by 5 p.m. CST. Selections will be made by October 15, and all work must be delivered to GCAC by Wednesday, November 4, 2013.

September 17th SAPG Meeting Acquisitions

Do you have a recent ceramics acquisition in your collection? Something you purchased at NCECA perhaps? Maybe a piece you acquired years ago? A vintage MacKenzie, McBride or Old MacDonald? Everyone is invited to bring one or two ceramic pieces to show off at the September 17th SAPG meeting.

It’s a ceramics collectors “Show and Tell” (except you don’t have to “Tell”). Forms will be available to fill in the artist name, owners name, date of acquisition, etc.
You can also specify “Do Not Touch” as the SAPG will not be responsible for any damages.
